Two Notes on Signups

'Any Relationship'

The 'Any Relationship' option refers to 'Any Relationship currently in the tagset for the fandom', not any relationship in the fandom in general. By checking this box in requests, you are requesting a gift for any of the relationships in the tagset for that fandom, and by checking this box in offers, you are offering to write any of the relationships in the tagset for that fandom.

If there are relationships for your fandom in the tagset you do not want to receive or write, please do not select 'Any Relationship' in your signup.

Similarly, 'Any Character' refers to any of the 4 epistolary categories. If there are any epistolary categories you do not want to receive or write, please do not select the 'Any Character' option in your signup.


'Hermione Granger & none'

This tag is currently duplicated in the tagset. As signups are ongoing I will leave the tagset as-is, but if you have offered or requested 'Hermione Granger & none (HP)', please use the 'Hermione Granger & none (Harry Potter)' version of the tag if possible. This is to ensure that your request for this relationship can match to an offer for this relationship, and vice versa.

After signups close, I'll go through and update all signups requesting or offering this tag to use this version. (Nothing else will be changed. If you don't want me to edit your signup, please let me know in a comment to this post.)

Coming in very late (& working on a signup): there's a parallel to the Hermione issue in the Star Trek: The Next Generation tag cluster. Nominators used both "Star Trek: The Next Generation" and "TNG" as disambiguators, and the relationship "Data & Geordi LaForge" is listed with each. (That's the only case where matching would be affected; all the other relationships noted use one or the other disambiguation, but not both.

Ok, I'm going to be That Person and name names because this is making things difficult and there's only so much time left to sign up. Could you look at a_w's and W_A's sign ups under Gravity Falls, Welcome to Nightvale and Twin Peaks and contact them (again, I assume)? There are requests for things not in the tagset and one of them is requesting everyone but prompting for one person and random things not even in the tagset, and it can't end well for anyone. If you've already contacted them and they just haven't reacted, ignore me and my impatience.

Thank you for letting me know! I've contacted those participants, and will watch out for those two matches to make sure their writer did not match on the DNWed relationships. In general for this exchange, if DNWs contradict the signup, the signup takes precedence.

For the tags and prompts for unnominated relationships, please feel free to ignore them - you will only match on what you offered, and prompts are optional. I've also fixed the signup form so it will no longer accept relationships which were not nominated.

Thanks, I appreciate this. I figured that the sign-up overrides the DNWs when it comes to relationships & format and I know that ODAO is fine, but knowing from the get go that the recip won't be happy at all is a little disheartening. Especially when they had every chance to not request a thing they don't want. So thanks for this, and fingers crossed things go smoothly from here on. :)

Thanks for being That Person. I've had to do some dancing around with my offers because I don't want to match with someone who might be expecting something I don't feel inspired to write for. And thanks to the mod for reaching out to these people!
